I thought it was strange that someone named Amanda Tinch tried to befriend me on Facebook and I only added her because I know someone from high school whose name is Amanda and she kind of looked like that Amanda's profile picture. So I figured she got married or something and was asking her if she was that Amanda. She said yes, but that she had to log off now and that I should call her at this number. That's when I thought it was odd - I guess my instincts were right.

A few days ago I received a friend request at facebook from an Ashley something. I didn't know her by a long shot, but I still added her anyways. After adding her I received a message, thanking me for adding her and asking me to call her under this number. I did a little research and apparently I'm not the only "facebook friend" he/she/they tried to scam with that number.
Needless to say, I didn't call. Oh, and I also unfriended her.racoon replied 9/3/13, 11:09 AMOMG! same thing happened to me with a message thanking me and everything. I was weary of adding her in the first place and now i know that i was right.

Seems like I'm not the only one who's been contacted on Facebook. I didn't know the Amanda that contacted me, but still I added her anyways - I figured she was a friend of a friend or something like that. However, I though it was strange that she would just sent me her number like that and so I googled it. Guess I was not the only one who got messages like this!
