This number is actually legit I work for the company that calls on behalf of them they have a relationship with them that always them to call there members to get them connected directly to a loan officer. It’s basically a call center.

Called mid-day (3:30 EST), claimed to be calling on behalf of PennyMAC, but when I said "so you are with PennyMac", he said "I am calling on behalf of PennyMac", emphasizing the BEHALF. He was trying to get me to refinance. I asked him how he got my information and he hung up immediately.

PennyMac has been reported with number +18005140427 as Telemarketer
Got two calls from this number. First on friday at 7:30pm. Second on Saturday at 10:30am. Not traditional business hours for a loan servicing agency. The second call left voice mail regarding good rates and options from pennymac. I have a loan through them, however there are no messages in my account. There was also about a 20 second pause between when the caller said who they were and what they were calling on behalf of, as if they had to remember which scam it was. Total joke

They called me when they were trying to reach my dad. Dad works fairly high up on the totem pole at a credit union and knows when to refinance. they were trying to refinance his mortgage. not sure how they got him and me confused, his name begins with another letter and I'm female. I sent it to him and he said more than likely it's a scam. So beware.

Illegally called a cellphone and broke another law when calling a number listed on the national do not call registry. Told caller she was in violation of the law, and would be reported to the FTC. Caller was attempting to sell me a mortgage. Caller had an accent, from overseas--I asked 3 times what the name of the company was and could not understand the company name.

Investigator Heidi reported PennyMac with the number 8005140427 as Cost trap
Received a call from this number 800-514-0427 and was told they were from PennyMac and they had been reviewing my mortgage loan and they had a savings offer for me. I asked if they were PennyMac or a subsidary another loan company and they confirmed they were from PennyMac. I allowed them to transfer me to a loan agent who immediately told me the call was being recorded. I stated that I was also recording on my end. The man on the other end of the phone told me I could not record the call. I told him if this concerned my mortgage and my loan being changed in any way that I would record the call. He again told me I could not record the call and got mad and hung up on me. So I'm assuming this is a scam since they will not allow me to record the call. So you can see if they will allow you to record their call or not. Good luck. I think I will wait until Monday and call PennyMac myself and ask why they're calling to refinance an already very low interest rate.
